Life Stories Pass History from One Generation to the Next

If you go to any fire station or headquarters, a visitor is likely to see a photo or two of firefighters from the past. Some of these will be of those fallen. The obvious reason for the photo is remembrance, but there is a second reason as well, especially in the firehouse. The photo helps those in charge convey the importance and the critical value of training to the new recruits. By allowing the green newbies to see that fire fighting isn’t a game, that bad things can happen even to heroes, and that training is what keeps you breathing the next day versus being another photo on the wall, a life story is being passed from one generation to the next. Firefighting is a world in itself, expecting humans involved to do things their own nature and instinct is screaming otherwise for personal survival. And it’s in life stories that the real understanding of firefighting can be told. Thought Torpedo is your gateway to reading and living for a moment the same life stories yourself.
